First Quarter Passion Project: The Ghost of Oaks Bottom
For my passion project I went to Oaks Park at night and took ghost pictures of my friend Emma Christensen. I had to contact the events manager at Oaks Park and get special permission to come in and take photos. I then had Emma stand in different locations with a white sheet over her head and told her what to do. In most of the pictures I had her move very slightly to create a floaty, ethereal look. I was inspired to take these photos after my mom did a similar thing a few years ago in a photography course. I am very interested with photography but have never really taken a photo series with a specific intention so I wanted to try this. It was also a slight challenge becoming familiar with using a tripod and a DSLR camera. I decided to take ghost photos because I am personally drawn to eerie, odd photography and what with Halloween coming up, it felt fitting to create a spooky photo series.
